We say welcome to new members in WOF. Russia Othello Federation is new member as National federation. Mexico, Lithuania and India got Nation with Contactperson membership.

Kenta Tominaga beat Stephane Nicolet with 2-1. Matthias Berg ended third after win against Tetsuya Nakajima.
Yukiko Tatsumi won the Female Thropie after win against Caroline Sandell-Sandberg. See the final games here.
Japan is reign team World Champion.

20 players played in the Open Belgium Championship. Nick Reunes won the tournament and was also best Belgium player. Tom Schotte enden 7th and was the second best Belgium. See results and standings.

Imre Leader won three of the five EGP tourneys he played this year! He ended at 830 points, 300 points more then Milosz Cupial who ended second in European Grand prix 2007. Congrats Imre! See the standings here.

Imre Leader beat defending champion Graham Brightwell 39-25 in the final to win his ninth British title, and his third in four years. David Beck third player before Michal Handel. 18 players attend.

Trond Methi won in the final against Harald Raa (37-27). Third was last years runner up Martin Ödegård. Methi won also Norway Championship 2006. 8 players attend.

Leonid Shifman won the Israel Championship. Andrey Malnev ended second only 1,5 mbq before Pavel Radzivilovsky. 8 player attended.

2007-09-07 16:29 Venue and dates for WOC 2007
The official site for the 31st Annual World Othello Championship will be the Hotel Stanley in Athens, Greece on November 28 - December 1, 2007.
The Tournament will be sponsored by Anjar Co., MegaHouse Corporation and Mattel.

Clarence Hewlett Memorial Tournament (US Championship) was held in New York. Eddie Williams won, runner up was Yohanes Chitra. Third Randy Fang. 10 player attend.

Australian Championship 2007

Matt Vinar won the Australians Championship 2007. He won all 5 games in the tournament and the final game. Scott Hughes number 2 and 3 was Phil Cairns. Read more

2007-08-05 German Championship 2007
Matthias Berg successfully defended his title and won the German Championships 2007. Mattias won against the Runner Up, Sebastian Schmidt, with 2 - 0 in the final. Claude Quazzo got 3rd after 2 - 0 aginst Liya Ye, who qualified for the best female spot. 17 player met up which is the biggest Othello tourney in Germany since 1977.

2007-08-01 WOC 2007 in Athens, Greece
Anjar, in conjuncture with MegaHouse, is pleased to announce that the 2007 WOC will be held in Greece.
Greece has twice previously been the host country of the WOC, in 1985 and 1997, and we look forward to returning to this beautiful country for our 31st WOC.
We are also fortunate to have Benkt Steentoft act as the WOC Tournament Director.

2007-07-31 Pawel Peczkowski won 17th EGP Brussels.
38 players met up in this years EGP Brussels. 8 of them was former EGP-winners. Pawel Peczkowski, Poland, met Vladislav Dolezal, Czech Republic, in the final and won with 2-1 in games. Arnaud Delaunay, France, took third place after 2-0 against Nicky van den Biggelaar, Netherlands. Read more.

2007-06-03 Leader victorius against Suekuni
Imre Leader, Great Britain won 2-0 over Makoto Suekuni, Singapore, in the final of Stockholm International. Suekuni was unbeaten after the 11 first rounds. Takuji Kashawabara was third after 2-1 win against Simon Ingelman Sundberg, Sweden. 30 players met up. Read more.
